James Osborne Baker, Jr. passed away on February 8, 2012. He was born on October 15, 1946 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and grew up in Briarcliff Manor, New York. He graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School in 1964, and attended Manhattan College. He received his B.A. degree from Coastal Carolina University in 1995. Jim served with the U.S. Air Force for over 10 years. He was stationed in Danang during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star. In Myrtle Beach, Jim work for AVX for several years. He also worked for Radio Shack before retiring. Jim was dedicated to his family and his community. He was active with Boy Scout Troop 899 and enjoyed camping trips to Camp Coker. He was also a member of the Grand Strand Radio Club. He contributed to the American Radio Relay League and the SKYWARN weather alert system. Jim was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 5086, and served as Grand Knight. He also enjoyed gardening, photography, and carving walking sticks. 
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy Moss Baker, his sons Wade Aaron, Christopher Allen, and Anthony Moss, and his daughter Marissa Hope. He has enjoyed getting to know his grandchild, Stephen James. He is also survived by his siblings Robert, William, Pauline, Margaret, Thomas, Michael, and Timothy.
Visitation will be at the Myrtle Beach Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Services will be held at St Andrews Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach on Monday at 11:00 AM.
