Dear Scouts and Scouters,
Camp Coker is looking for summer camp staff. As some of you know, staff will be paid this year. The base pay is $50 per week. The base pay will be increased based on your qualifications, rank in Boy Scouts, and any previous Summer Camp Experience. This will be reflected in your staff contract.
There are openings across camp, this includes lifeguards, merit badge instructors, and even area directors. If you feel you have the skills and drive to offer an unparalleled Camp program, consider Camp Coker for 2018. We are looking for the best staff members in the nation to offer the BEST program to our area scouts. Requirements include: excellent scout skills, incredible people skills, a willingness to learn and teach and LOTS of CHARISMA!!! If you have any questions about openings, please contact the Camp Director or Program Director.
Staff applications are available online at peedeescouts.us, the Councils website. This year, we will also be doing in person application/interview dates. The first date will be Friday March 16th,from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Camp Coker, the second will be Saturday April 7th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Council Office. Other Interviews must be scheduled in advance with the Camp Director, once your application is received the Camp Director will call and set a time, date and location. After each interview you will be contacted by the Camp Director about possible employment for the summer. Jobs will go to the first qualified candidate so don't wait until the last minute to submit an application to work at Camp Coker.
For all staff there will be a staff development day on May 6th starting at 9:00am at Camp Coker. More details will be provided in your staff packet upon employment.
Scouts 14 years old will be considered for Councilor in Training (CIT) positions. If you know a scout or scouter that would like to be a member of our staff, please forward this information the them.
