Subject: 2015 Report to the Nation Delegate Nominations for February 2016 Washington, D.C. Visit
Planning is underway for the 2016 delegation of Scouts who will travel to Washington, D.C. to deliver Scouting’s annual Report to the Nation.
We invite you to nominate one, or more, extraordinary Scout(s) from your council to represent the Boy Scouts of America as part of the Report to the Nation delegation. This group
will travel to our nation’s capital February 27 – March 3 to deliver the report to Congressional and Government leaders.
The Report to the Nation delegation is a diverse group of youth representing all areas of the Scouting movement, from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts to Eagle Scouts, and Venturers
to Sea Scouts. The young people being nominated must be registered as a youth in their respective program and not exceed the age for their program during the February 27 – March 3, 2016 visit.
While the delegation is small in number—approximately six to 10 youth are chosen each year— youth selected for the delegation each have a remarkable story to tell and represent
the diversity of Scouting. In past years, we’ve invited life-savers, innovators, world travelers, and community youth leaders to join the delegation in representing the BSA to our nation’s leaders.
Selected Scouts will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey, joining other Scouting leaders and me for a week of events in Washington, D.C. The National Council covers all costs
for selected youth participants. In past years, the delegation’s agenda has featured meetings with heads of state, including leaders at the Pentagon, CIA, Congressional and Cabinet offices, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
To nominate a youth member of your council for consideration as part of the delegation, please complete this
online nomination form.
All entries must be submitted no later than Friday, November 6, 2015.
Feel free to forward this email message to selected staff or volunteers who have permission to submit a nomination on your behalf.
Thanks for your time and for helping tell Scouting’s story.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We are only requesting your nominations for review by the delegate selection
committee. Please do not contact the Scout(s) you are nominating
until you are notified if they’ve been selected as a delegate.
