Pee Dee Area Council High Adventure Committee

Mountain Biking Clinic: Sunday, November 7th:
The High Adventure Committee is sponsoring a mountain biking clinic for adult leaders and senior scouts on Sunday, Nov. 7, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM, at Naturally Outdoors Outfitters 2519 W Palmetto St, Florence, SC: http://www.naturallyoutdoors.com/default.asp
This is the third clinic in a series (the first two were Backpacking Skills and Introduction to Paddling) that the committee has sponsored.
Our objective is to improve the skill sets of our adult leaders in various high adventure activities so that these leaders will be comfortable offering these activities as part of their troop program in the future.
The Mountain Biking program will include:
• Bike safety and rules of the trail/road
• Basic bicycle care and maintenance
• How to select a bike
• How to change a tire and tube
• Information on bike touring
• Demonstration of and participation in mountain biking on the Florence Rail Trail
• Information on where and how to go mountain biking in this area

Climbing Clinic: Sunday, December 5th
Additionally, the High Adventure Committee will do a Climbing clinic on Sunday afternoon, Dec.5. It will be held at the indoor climbing center in Fayetteville, NC. More information will be forthcoming. It would be great if you could share this information with your leaders.
